As I thought from the beginning – without the ratings agencies none of the financial crisis would have been possible.  Barry Ritholtz wrote about it in a book (titled Bailout Nation) for McGraw Hill, a subsidiary of Standard & Poor’s….woops.  Rejected….here is the original chapter.
